Space Colonization – Transcending Earth

I saw a documentary once where some dude was dead serious on that he could built a home like the Romans did in Romans time out of the rocks and junk on Mars – then he’d bury it under dirt and a large sheet of something to protect it from the solar death rays commonly fired upon the Martian surface.  My favourite part was how he snuck a giant machine with a hose going into the structure to supply air at the end.  Well I’d dig being a Human Martian settler chillin’ on Mars and amazingly insanely awesome view of the close moons that dance around Mars – I’d be down for buying my own property on the moon and having my own little haven to call home… or a hole in some mining operation on an asteroid.

Space Colonization is the next huge step for man I think.  Earth is a giant rock and I admit it’s great and I also admit (on behalf of all humanity) as many of you have seen we’ve probably fucked up and abused are home pretty harshly with over population, war, and other unhonourable human achievements.  Well over population ain’t so bad – in one way the entire human race totally deserves to shout “Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh yaaaaaaaaaaaeaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh BABY! Boo-yaa!”  We’ve conquered this planet to the shit – we’ve had this entire place for a bit now and used so many of its resources it’s amazing we really are still functioning in this globalized world.

Now let’s beat the moon landing, beat the space station, and beat conquering our home planet by invading one of the rich rocks around us.  We may need the atomic age 2.0 and bring back and rebuild the way to use nuclear energy in a safer more efficient way to take us to other planets to settle, mine, and harvest for humanity.  Mars may be able to be terraformed one day – with future technology or simply by machines drilling a hole to the core and allowing the atmosphere, temperature, and life to birth itself – through nature – as life intended.   In case you didn’t understand that allow me to explain.  Mars has all the elements needed to giant an atmosphere inside it – pop a hole in it and let it all spray out creating an atmosphere, raising the density, raising the temperature, and created a liveable home for mass human settlement upon the surface.

Enough about Mars though – the moons a closer trip requiring less energy – is close to our home planet for psychological stability, and who’s to say we can’t terraform the moon one day? Yes I think during this century we will begin to settle in space. We have to too – it’s pure stupidity in the worst unadvanceing way, to let life stay on one planet at risk.  We need to spread to comets, asteroids, other moons like Europa which may have oceans beneath its icy exterior – oceans with possible life, we need to spread about the solar system – one day to other solar system, for the resources, for the glory, for the future, and for ourselves as a conquering species.

And in the thousand year future where man is in different solar systems with technology or form unknown and unimaginable to the common mind, and one day decedents from this same earth, from two different solar systems will meet, and they will look onto the others as aliens – both them and maybe their technology as well evolved to their own cosmic home.
